I'm using Firefox too since before both name changes (first from Phoenix to Firebird, then from Firebird to Firefox). But I'm mostly using Mozilla because it's got the integrated mail reader.

For mail I'm using Mozilla Thunderbird.

Well I've been using Mozilla Mail for years before Thunderbird came on the scene (and before that, Netscape Messenger). Once TB is 1.x, I might take another look at it, back around 0.4/0.5 it didn't really offer anything MM wouldn't just as well.

How is that blasphemy, neither you or Microsoft are gods. Although I have come to the conclusion that Windows Longhorn is actually all 4 of the horseriders of the apocalypse. The end is nigh. But still that doesn't make Microsoft a god.

Microsoft prospers for one sole reason: people's stupidity.

Indeed and the stupidity of man will bring the world onto it's knees. Which is why we should all start using Lunix, OpenOffice, and stop using OpenGL. And don't give me the old nothing is developed for Linux argument, you can use emulators for old programs and new ones will be developed for Lunix because everyone is using it. We'll save money and our hair.

[quote="Moose":7ri8mxin] and stop using OpenGL. Then what else would be left for open source platforms as a 3d api?

At home I'm using Linux as my primary platform. The last time I booted Windblows was to compile DOS and Windows binaries for the release. One bad thing for Doomers is that there are no really good Doom level editors for Lnux, and from those that there are none of them supports Hexen. BUT I've decided to fill this gap by building my own Doom level editor for Linux based on sources of Yadex (but I'm planing to rewrite from scratch as much as possible). But, as Cheapy noted, you are wrong about OpenGL. Even in my Doom level editor I'm planing to use OpenGL for drawing.

Maybe he's convinced that because Nvidia and ATI are breaking linux support for it

Actually I ment DirectX, I was talking to a friend about OpenGL while typing this, and got myself mixed up. Indeed I myself am starting to learn more about OpenGL, I now have some rotating 3D shapes. The only time I'm ever going to use DirectX over OpenGL is while I'm working with DarkBasic and thats because it's based around DirectX.

Firebrand

I actually just use IE, but I'm interested on trying that Firefox thingie, I really never though on trying another thing to explore the web, I also don't like M$ products, they are most of the time bad stuff that needs a lot of patches before their releases because they don't do things as they should, they all are stupid, that's the reason, they are more interested on their money than in offering quality in their products .
Fri, 22 Oct 2004 19:01:28

RambOrc

Surfing the web with M$ IE is a time bomb with a burning fuse, guaranteed to blow up in your face sooner or later - like all M$ products, it's got more bugs than features, and in the case of IE the number of security holes exceeds the sum of the previous two...

What makes me laugh is that WinXP has twice the known bugs compared to Win98, surely your ment to improve your software in later releases . I'm not sure how the newer versions of IE compare to the older ones, can't be a great improvment though. Oh and to get back on topic (for a while at least) I don't use FireFox, I use Mozilla.
Fri, 22 Oct 2004 19:21:49

RambOrc

Guess what, IE in the new XP SP2 version (not available even on Win2K, that's the new M$ strategy, buy a new Winblows if you want the latest browser - who the fuck wants one anyway?), it's even worse than before... the built-in popup blocker M$ hyped so much is inferior to probably any freeware out there, in my experience it blocks and breaks most intranet applications, but lets through the shitty commercial pops of most websites.

Kerio Personal Firewall, I think. If you can't find it, I'll try to find out the URL (I just stumbled on it through a search some time back, then downloaded it and installed it, every step with my usual delays in between).
