<!-- s:evil: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_evil.gif" alt=":evil:" title="Evil or Very Mad" /><!-- s:evil: --> WTF? I install Simcity 2000(Yes, I know it's old) and it says that I don't have enough RAM (4 Megabytes!) and I am getting the same proble with Betrayal at Krondor! On a machine that can run AvP II and Quake 3 without a hitch this is getting me rather angry... Anyone know what to do?

Where are you guys,usually:?:

That's because they're DOS games, not meant for whatever Winblows version you use. Run them in a real DOS environment and they should be fine. Or if you have Win95, they might work too. [quote="Amedha":20jceo8h]Where are you guys,usually:?: I'm not sure what you mean?

Oh thanks.And the "Where are you guys usually" is what are you guys usually doing and where are you most of the time. Again thanks, as Betrayal at Krondor is a wonderful game (Graphics aren't any FFX but gameplay is good, like most old games) Also have you played Catacombs the Abyss?

<!-- s:lol: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_lol.gif" alt=":lol:" title="Laughing" /><!-- s:lol: --> Winblows. Too bad it won't work on 98 (XP=major memory loss and inability to play goodies like Heretic, and Catacombs : The Abyss!)

I don't use Windows XP for that very reason. I had my choice between 98 and XP when I got this computer, and I chose Windows 98 because I wanted to play DOS games and use DCK, a map editor that only works in DOS (but it's still worth it).

Agreed Ichor! XP may have a "new easy to use interface"(cough cough I like Windows Explorer Classic better Cough) but so far the 98 is quite compatible with anything they've dished out! Although over the years the ol' Compaq is having some very Minor things I don't like (Detecting E:/Setup on startup and automatically selecting "Uninstall while it sees my "Cancel clicking" fury) but that's about all.

[quote="Amedha":2eorer45]the "Where are you guys usually" is what are you guys usually doing and where are you most of the time. You mean in real life, like job etc.? As to the Winblows story, I'm using Win98 and Win95 along with DOS 6.2. At work I'm supporting 30 people's Win2K machines so I have my own ideas about the "NT stability" hype. Catacombs: never heard of it. Any link to an info page? p.s. the "revolutionary" Winblows suXPenis interface has been stolen from Apple's Aqua (Mac OS X graphical interface). The big difference is that behind Apple's new shiny graphics and easy-to-use interface there's a robust BSD foundation (BSD is a Unix flavor). Behind WinXP's shiny graphics and not-that-easy-to-use interface there's the same nonworking crap as behind everything M$ since DOS 1.0 from the early 1980s.

Catacombs:The Abyss is really old but rather fun FPS where you play as a mage who's mission is to vanquish the evil Nemesis(A Lich(AD&D not Heretic) with a red robe I think) it's on those really big disks that you can't use with todays CD Drives but if you can find a small floppy disk SOMEWHERE you can play it I guess. About maybe 13-15 years old.

News Flash:Go to Moby Games and look under DOS and you will find them! I don't know if the next thing is true but I think you can find them on abandon ware sites.Please note abandon ware sites do not carry the "warez" that are actually free rips of other games. It's legal because the company is no longer making money off of these games!

10 bucks for such an old game??? The screenshot at the last link looks similar to the Forgotten Realms Epic (4 D&D games from the early 80s) and the Savage Frontier Epic (2 D&D games from the same time). <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.turbotech.ch/articles2001/010121-forgotten_silver-01.html">http://www.turbotech.ch/articles2001/01 ... er-01.html</a><!-- m --> As for the MobyGames screenshots, they don't allow direct linking so you should link in the HTML page(s) with the images. p.s. I'm working in the IT/security dept of the pension fund of a bank, doing things like tech support, backup, security (both IT and non-IT - no, not the movie kind of stuff), IT administration etc. Not sure whether this is what you wanted to know. I'd say check out my personal homepage but I've got a badly outdated old one and a not done new one only. <!-- s;) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_wink.gif" alt=";)" title="Wink" /><!-- s;) -->

Wow 8 days later >=D Blegh dont know how to HTML link but I do have AD&D Favorites of the OLD TSR GAMES Secret of The Silver Blades,Savage Frontier,Eye of the Beholder(1st one is bst lemme tell ya).Funny how this started with SimCity which after not knowing how to build a Power Plant, my brilliant plans for Kyoto were scrapped, and I disowned/Excommunicated the game(As in remove it from my family/gruop). Well remember Kids, You can tame a dog with meat, a man with money, but nothing can tame a Miburo no ookami (Wolf of Mibu).
