I grew up with a 386 in my bedroom, starting from the age of 6. Nowadays computers like that are a piece of crap, and I don't remember most of its specs, but it's not the computer itself I have fond memories of. It's the old side-scrolling PC games we had on it, all from the early 90's, one dating back to 1991. Lemmings, Jill Of The Jungle, Hocus Pocus, Jazz Jackrabbit, and Humans. Of course I had Heretic and Hexen, but they were installed on a better computer.
Anyway, we (my parents) eventually through out the old 386, and until now I completely forgot about all those wonderful primitive games. It wasn't until I found them on floppies in an old floppy cabinet locked away in the laundry room. Unfortunately, many of them were only sharewares, so the only way to get the full versions now is to buy it (I looked into it - they're not freeware). But that's okay, because they're about <=$10.
It's not that I'm only gonna get them for myself, but my younger sister gets a kick out the old games and I know she'll enjoy them too. I may even get some games that I never had in my youth, but found a demo of them that she likes too, and I may enjoy them as well.
Well that's enough awe from me. <!-- s:D --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_biggrin.gif" alt=":D" title="Very Happy" /><!-- s:D -->
