is this TC going to be more like strife? strife is one of my favorite FPS and it would be awesome to see a version set in the hexen world.

The 4th Class

We never strive to emulate any certain game, as that constitutes spiritual plagiariasm. But you can expect SE to be somewhat more action-oriented than hardcore RPGs.

In a way, it's gonna be like Strife on steroids.

[quote="TheCount":3sikmtrm][quote="The 4th Class":3sikmtrm](...)spiritual plagiariasm. Huh? Well plagiarism is when you steal/directly copy another person's work. So, if you had a certain game in mind and modeled your mod off of it, while you may not directly or actually steal anything, the fact that it's so in your mind and directly influences your design choices, you as well as did steal ideas. Think of it as writing a term paper, and you read some sources, and you don't directly steal anything from your sources, but you accidentally type a sentence almost exactly like one you read. You didn't do it intentionally, but you still did.

I know, but the phrase and all looked funny.

Actually, "spiritual plagiarism" would be something completely different than what 4th means here. It means the stealing of ideas from another religion. What 4th actually meant would be "plagiarism in spirit".

The phrase can mean either-or, the main distinguisher between ambiguities being the context. And besides, "plagiarism in spirit" would never make even the least bit of sense for a native speaker.
