I didn't want to discuss this outside of the devforum, it's none of the fans' business. I originally wanted to use your live guitar version for the trailer, but when I got it from koraxdev and listened to it, it sounded strange, not sure whether it's a prob with my equipment or the exported version you uploaded, but while you play the live guitar in the left channel only (prob #1), the synth guitar seems to be playing too (prob #2). Since time was of the essence (I did have time to do this over the weekend, but if I'd have put it aside half-finished who knows when it'd have been finished), I just quickly remastered the MIDI in Garageband and put it under the movie as soundtrack. Not to mention importing an MP3 into the project and then exporting the movie with a different sound compression would've made it sound horrible, for projects like this I'll need uncompressed files (Garageband exports an uncompressed wave format). At any rate, this is just a first attempt, I'm overall happy with the results because IMO it's better than any of the previous Korax trailers. It was also a proof of concept, the equipment and software I have right now is good enough to create cutscenes as movies into SE (or even KA), meaning we can do any kind of cutscenes now with an affordable amount of work, it doesn't have to be limited to Hexen and Strife style cutscenes only.

Hmm, I thought I fixed that channel imbalance by exporting mono audio. I guess I didn't then. At any rate, maybe that could solve prob 1? I thought I muted the synth guitar, actually. I'll investigate, and if possible, maybe even record a cleaner version. When I look back, I realize that I recorded the guitar at too high a volume, and while it doesn't sound too bad, the peeks of the sound wave frequently extend beyond the scale. Would you be up for me giving this one a second go? Even if it isn't used for anything, at least we'd have it for future usage.

Sure, since it's gonna be used in KA itself. BTW exporting, some of the MP3 you exported with your app has "knacks" in them at places, is it a hardware or a software prob? I got this on my very old sound card years ago too, but it was heard at playback and wasn't part of the sound files generated.

But it will be used by KA inside the game 4th! I have made the MP3 support return to Vavoom using our own custom executable for that matter, it's already included in the internal beta, just open the MAPINFO lump for KA and watch for the music names there, after you record the song rename it to the same name and create a music subdirectory into the "karena" folder and run the game, you should hear the MP3 file playing instead of the MIDI file!

You know that sound you sometimes hear on an LP too when the needle or the LP isn't in best condition, that crackling sound or whatever.

Sounds more like a problem with the patch chord then, sometimes when they're broken somewhere they snap and you get that kind of feedback.

I'm going to make a second trailer, 4th Class do you have a wish what song to use?

Well, it's a KA trailer, and it's going to be action-packed, so it would have to be a fast or heavy song. Right now I'm thinking either Hell Keep, Barren, Ego, or the Warriors Axe MP3. Those are my 4 candidates. It really depends on the kind of feel you want for the trailer. If you're going to have a series of rising actions followed by a denouement, then I say go for Barren or Ego. Then again, if the whole trailer is just one long orgasm, then I say go for Hell Keep or Warriors Axe MP3. BTW when I say Warriors Axe, I mean the one with live guitar.
