Questions about the maps

I've found my interest in Hexen again an have started working on some maps.. Well, okay one. But I was just wondering exactly what maps do you want, and for which game? I do have a very very very early map with only afew rooms (Partially because I've been practicing with 3D Floors, and still trying to figure Slopes out) so If you want to see the little I have so far, you can just ask and I'll upload.

If you are working on a new map, you have 2 options, you can do it for Korax Arena (any gameplay mode you want) or you can work on one for Scattered Evil <!-- s:D --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_biggrin.gif" alt=":D" title="Very Happy" /><!-- s:D --> .

I think the map on working on right now will best fit SE. But maybe sometime later (like Sunday) I'll start on a KA Map.. Probably just FFA DM. I have found SE much much easier to map for than KA. I've also been working on my map recently, I might be able to get it good enough to Upload soon.. At least a beta version of it. But what type of maps would suit SE and KA Best if I were to keep mapping for them?

Well, for KA the maps can vary from small to medium sized maps of any kind, depending the gameplay mode you want to use, you should adapt them, if you want to make DM map you have to make it with lots of weapons and ammo, also you could make some places to hide safe or something, heh! If you want to make a CTF map, it could be medium sized and you can make the bases for both teams and their flags, you could put some traps also, a lot of ammo is a good thing too, depending the map size. For Critter Hunt you could make it as a single player mode map, it will have a lot of monsters or points for the monsters to teleport. For SE anything you can work a nice castle dungeon or something like that, also you could make an open area for the player to move around the places he will visit, I don't know exactly which maps are needed for it, maybe Ramborc can answer you this better than me.

I am starting to get really some where. Although at the moment it'll basicly only have normal Hexen floors and such (Just plain straight) because I can't figure out slopes yet. If I ever do they will have them.

Got a very very early version of the map uploaded. Its called map01.zip in my folder (Where else?). Now please, first things first, it is very small but I thought why not upload it anyways. The reason is I wanted to see exactly how its coming because in my eyes its coming out great.. But thats just me. I'm still working with slopes for the past since I joined KH.. Some things I learn fast (Like 3D Floors) and some things I go slow at learning (Like Slopes). Hopefully I'll get it soon.

I have this Slope tutorial for Vavoom sketched up, I only need to draw the figures and make it digital, maybe I will send it over to Janis even today. Some comments of your map Stryker. I like it so far, but I found it to be too dark, try to make the light level up, that would make it look better <!-- s;) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_wink.gif" alt=";)" title="Wink" /><!-- s;) -->, there are some missing upper textures here and there, but so far it looks pretty good! Keep up the nice work!

I noticed the missing textures earlier this morning. I'll probably change it later but for now I'm not touching the map until I come up with more Ideas. Any suggestions will also help.

I've started working on the same map again. Hopefully I'll keep my interest in Hexen again and be able to really work on these maps alot.
