Question about the new KH domain

Sun, 20 Feb 2005 20:16:21

Firebrand

I'm a bit confused about the domain change to sourceforge, there are two different KH pages now, korax.sourceforge.net and the original korax-heritage.com, are both of them going to keep working <!-- s:?: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_question.gif" alt=":?:" title="Question" /><!-- s:?: -->

korax-heritage.com is pointing to korax.sourceforge.net location so it doesn't mather which URL you use, you'll get the same content in both cases.

Janis I logged in through SSH but couldn't do anything because all files are owned by you and not even a chmod was allowed. Anyway, I think the prob is that the CGI stuff has to go to the cgi-bin folder instead of the htdocs one (security reasons). Either that or you could replace the current CGI script with a PHP one, they don't need any special permissions.

I'll check it out.

I did a 'chmod g+s', see if this helps.

Upgraded this forum. With Vavoom forums it won't be that simple.

Strange, no version number is displayed at the bottom any more. Did you run update_to_latest.php in the install dir before deleting that directory?

If you've got several mods installed on the Vavoom forums, if you want me I can run the patch version for you there.

That's one of the things they changed. Now you can see it only on admin panel. For Vavoom forums I'll do update on my local copy and then upload everything.

Well I'm hoping Janis is correct as I've just updated my forum and theres no version number down the bottom like there used to be.

Even in list of changes they mention this. BTW Vavoom forums also are updated.

And the version information in the admin panel is: Unable to open connection to phpBB Server, reported error is: Connection refused[/color:11x2zfya] <!-- s:roll: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_rolleyes.gif" alt="" title="Rolling Eyes" /><!-- s:roll: -->

It seams SF.net doesn't allow to connect to the phpBB database. On Vavoom forums it says: Your installation is up to date, no updates are available for your version of phpBB.[/color:1s8aa2yi]

That's no prob I guess because you see on the Vavoom forums when there's a new update available and know when to update the Korax forums. <!-- s:) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" title="Smile" /><!-- s:) -->
