I have a HQ soundset for Hexen music which is in "ogg" format (whatever that is). The instructions say for using it in the game to place the zip file (about 170meg) in the "data\jhexen\extra" folder and select "external" in sound options from Doomsday. How do I (or can I) use this with Korax?

This pack is designed for newer versions of the Doomsday engine, not the pretty old 0.9X version KMod uses <!-- s:lol: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_lol.gif" alt=":lol:" title="Laughing" /><!-- s:lol: --> .

So I'm SOL in using this music in Korax? Is there a way to have the background music in the game? When I first played Hexen (many years ago), it was too much for my system to play the music and have all full screen graphics enabled; later I never kept the CD around after install so I've never actually heard the music (til I played the files in this HQ soundset).

Unless you play with MIDI music files on, you won't have other choice for music, it's one of the problems we had with the old Doomsday engine version we used, if you don't know SkyJake (the Doomsday engine creator) wasn't the most help giving guy we had on development, and even when he lend us a hand with some code for rendering models as sprites, Camper had to finish implementing it correctly on our engine to make it work.

To proudly proclaim my ignorance here, I assume I copy the files from the CD to my Hexen directory? ...but what then? I just reinstalled Hexen and Korax (hoping to get rid of that cache CTD I kept experiencing), created a shortcut to the ogl bat, and run the game from that.

Just copy the Hexen WAD file to the same directory KMod is installed, then just run one of the files to run the game.

The music should be played automatically by the engine in MIDI format or in CD music format.
