You can also download a [u:8jylkz7j]non-compressed[/u:8jylkz7j] BMP file (640x480) by clicking here.
it links [u:8jylkz7j]zip[/u:8jylkz7j] file... I didn't know that winzip or pkzip had a 'do not compress' feature. <!-- s:D --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_biggrin.gif" alt=":D" title="Very Happy" /><!-- s:D --> <!-- s:P --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_razz.gif" alt=":P" title="Razz" /><!-- s:P -->

The difference is that while JPEG compression goes with visible quality decrease, ZIP compression doesn't alter the quality of the packed image files.

I'm aware of that... but still, lossless or not it's a compressed BMP file <!-- s:P --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_razz.gif" alt=":P" title="Razz" /><!-- s:P -->

Yep, you can always create ZIP archives with zero compression.

The original of the logo is in PNG but back in 2002 you couldn't expect PC users to be able to view PNG files.
