Regarding Korax Mod multiplayer, it might work if someone merges the KMOD 2.2 source code (going to be released in 2 weeks or so from now) and the latest jHexen 1.x source code.

Let's get started.. If you need a good meal that can be made quick.. the solution is the Quick Chicken ! Ready in 35 minutes ! Ingredients : 4 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves 4 ounces Dijon mustard 1/4 cup teriyaki sauce 1/4 cup bacon bits 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese Directions : 1 Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). 2 Place chicken in a 9x13 inch baking dish. Slather mustard evenly over chicken, then pour teriyaki sauce evenly over all. Sprinkle with bacon bits, then cover with cheese. 3 Bake at 400 degrees F (200 degrees C) for 30 minutes. This Recipe has been given a 4 stars out of 5 stars rating by me. Some will prefer the peanut chicken but I tell ya, this is much better! [ May 03, 2002: Message edited by: Nosferax ]</p>

(when I get on) Nosferax: I'd play you in UT/GOTY edition if I had it. But all I got for shooters is Q2, Q3, AvP2, Duke Nukem, Hexen and that's it I think....

But I got problem, Nosferax, I know yaks are those buffalos/bulls they got in China and Tibet, but sincerely "teriyaki" beats me...??? What the hell is that? I need to know, Nosfy Boy, got to go cook my dinner and pick a sauce for your new recipe...

Come on, I've got something WAY faster: - get a jacket and the car keys (1/2 minute) - get down to the car (1/2 minute) - drive to the next McDonald's McDrive (2 minutes) - wait in the line (2 minutes) - give up your order, then repeat it 3x becuz they obviously don't use anything als than morons for workforce (4 1/2 minutes) - wait for your "instant delivery" (2 minutes) - send it back becuz half of it is something else than what you ordered (1/2 minute) - wait again (1 minute) - get something that's so close to your original order that you don't bother to say anything any more, then drive away (1/2 minute) - drive to the next parking slot (1 minute) - pack out the stuff and wolf it down (2 minutes) - drive home, then get out of the jacket and sit back before the PC (1 1/2 minutes) Total time: 18 minutes. Now THAT's what I call quick (if not good). p.s. before anyone thinks anything queer about me, let me state that I'm neither American, nor do I have a car, and the main reason I go to McDonald's now and again is becuz they're the only non-smoking restaurant in the vicinity of where I work. As a matter of fact, I would enjoy a battle with you. I don't care all that much about the lag as long as I can get these Urges out of my system and put you down so you won't talk so big anymore just because you wrecked up another Novice fighter (Sorry, JP ). The lag doesn't occur for the host, right? Knowing you have an advantage will make my victory even sweeter I have Quake2, but I don't really care for it as much as Hexen. Never could get LAN to work. Quake3 is nice, though. Plus it accesses directly to the internet, rather than that IP Garbage.

You guys are weird. I don't talk about Hexen to anyone who doesn't know because they're simpletons and I'd have to dumb it down for about an hour. You mean you've SEEN other people DO something and now you know how it'd be to do it yourself? BTW when Warcraft II came out, it had a lot of groundbreaking features. It was part of the early wave of real time strategy games and featured a lot more units and special effects than other games of the genre at that time. And its prequel, Warcraft, was one of the very first real time strategy games ever. Just becuz you get to see something half a decade later then it came out, and it became history in the meantime, it doesn't mean it was history the day it came out. I don't want to flame you or anything, but with you've a lot of prejudices for someone with your ignorance...

In Japan there's an adapter for game boys so you can battle pokemon with other people online. They're planning on releasing it in America sometime this summer or early fall. If I can't Have Hexen DMatches online, at least I'll have pokemon. It's not Scary, it is the absolute opposite.

I've discovered a very cool game - Serious Sam. A game that makes a serious competition to Doom. Maybe even RambOrc will like it.
Wed, 08 May 2002 17:46:00

RambOrc

Strange, my brother just mentioned this game half an hour ago. I've seen the demo in 2000 or so (when it was new), and what I didn't like that everything I saw I already saw somewhere else. The only thing I saw in the first 2 maps I didn't see anywhere else before were those charging bull-men which I found cool... but in the meantime I have played Hexen II Portal of Praevus and now there is nothing in the Serious Sam demo that would be original in any way. But hey, I'll try it anyway one of these days... I started playing RTCW a couple of weeks ago and I found the first 14 maps pretty cool, but afterwards it became boring rapidly. The mission where you have to start an airplane is just a straight Half-Life copy, and the only cool map since then was the one with the tank you had to protect. Anyway, I found out today what my main prob is with RTCW, it's not a real first person shooter... the gameplay is too realistic, you have to sneak around all the time, you can't just charge into the heat of the battle, rambo style, and kill everyone at point-blank range with a mighty blow. While it was more of a feature of old sprite-based 3D games from the DOOM era, it's not something that wouldn't exist any more, UT still has this feature and hopefully UT2 will have it as well. And I don't really think the problem was that I'm too lame for an FPS, I mean I've beaten pure first person shooters like Heretic and Unreal on the hardest difficulty setting. So, was this posting off-topic enough?
Wed, 08 May 2002 18:11:00

Col.J.P.

Are you talking of the First Encounter or the Second, Janis? Not that it matter much...Serious Sam the Second Encounter is just a little more "rafin?e" than the first...both use a very interesting graphic engine totally new, in openGL. Gameplay concerning they are both incredible in SP and MP(the coop mode is a blast...). I think I never saw so much enemies in one single map as in this game...not even in Doom. CroTeam work in this game is absolutely astonishing, and they created it from scratch, the only visible influence here seems to be only Doom. The story sucks, but it really does?nt matter much...it is only a fragging feast.

Did you catch the bull? Man, you got to love that werebull, it is something else... We could play it together if you got both parts, let me know when you start the second one... I know how that is. My devotion to Hexen surpasses any other (except maybe my pokemon. Lets say they're tied ). Now I'm incredibly more picky about the games I play, and all I wanna do is construct wads for Hexen and then test myself on my own levels. I just got finished with a wad I've been making for fun, and it's insane! I can't play it on JHexen because of the lag from all the tids that eventually pop up I'd like to see anyone be able to overcome my monsterous creation on level 5 skill (even I havn't been able to do it yet, since I've only tried it on Jhexen. You even get a little lag on normal hexen!).
Thu, 09 May 2002 06:56:00

You mean kamikadze on a bull? That was really cool. As of coop - sory, but I don't have Internet access on my working computer, and this computer with Internet doesn't have a 3D card.
Thu, 09 May 2002 08:33:00

OK, forget it... Now if you try Second Encounter in hard dificulty settings you?re gonna get an evil time...it is amazing, how could they get so many NPC in just one map...it is insane! I still think RambOrc would love this game, if he only gave it a look, it is the kind of game he is always talking about... Serious Engine is using a feature called "Level Of Detail". That means that models in distance have special versions with less triangles. <blockquote><font size="1" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">quote

"Level of Detail"...? Never heard of it, but if you say so Janis, it?s a fact. Do you knew the graphic engine before? It is quite versatile, is?nt it? Both games are full of "eye candies", but the second is much better...the most incredible thing is that it works great on less powerful machines too, without loosing much quality... Those guys are good... There is another great game from an Ukranian guy, which has this awesome graphic engine(built by himself, too...), known first as Venom and now as Codename : Outbrake, which never had the attention it deserved... I?ve been playing it for a while now, and everytime I get more admired at that excellent work... [ May 09, 2002: Message edited by: J.P. ] [ May 10, 2002: Message edited by: J.P. ]</p>

LOL, I did something better... we couldn't find each other for minutes so I shouted over to his room (in real life) that we should meet at the gate of the castle. There was a little house across, I went there into hiding, waiting for him to show up, which he did. I took aim and nailed him with my Thompson. By the time he realized what I was doing and started to shoot back, it was too late. I guess this was my first, last and only frag in RTCW multiplayer ever...

Is?nt it romantic, boss? And appealling too...
