We never tried multiplayer in anything but Win98, so no idea. As this part of the engine is 100% the work of SkyJake, best would be to contact him directly ( <a href="mailto:firstname.lastname@example.org">email@example.com</a> ).
Anyway, the only tested multiplayer mode is cooperative and it crashes after 20-40 minutes of play in our experiences, and as net savegames aren't restorable, there's no point in trying to get it to work. I'm really sorry for this, but this all comes from the jHexen engine we used as base, and we have zero influence upon this part of our mod. [img]images/smiles/icon_sad.gif[/img]
The good news is, we'll start work on a Hexen multiplayer-only mod with several different game types in Spring 2002, with a different base engine (Vavoom
). There won't be any details given to the public before Scattered Evil
comes out, but it's coming so there will
be a chance to play against human opponents in a Hexen RPG mod (most probably somewhere in the 2nd half of 2002).
