Map prob

I've got this map that makes the ports crash most of the time... http://www.korax-heritage.com/koraxdev/ ... xquake.zip At the start, turn around and get out through the door. In the next room, you'll see a key and periodic flames around it. In Vavoom, it seems to work fine all the time, here the prob is that when you die and want to respawn, the engine crashes with an error message. In Doomsday, the game freezes pretty soon if you cross the flames at the wrong moment (if you stand a couple of seconds on one you'll surely catch that moment). In some cases, the game locks up completely and I have to hit the reset switch to reboot, not even CTRL+ALT+DEL works. The wad was written for the original Hexen, so it's all the more strange what happens here. Janis, Ichor, could you look into this? Thanks.

Still another test run, with slightly different results... this time in Vavoom it worked fine (BTW it's 1.14), I could die by the flames and respawn several times after each other... in the SE build of Doomsday it quit with the same error message as always, and in jHexen 1.x (from last Autumn or Summer or dunno) it quit with not an engine error like the other engines, but with a Winblows module error, producing such a system instability that I had to reboot.

I'm not sure exactly why it does it, but I know how it happens. It seems to have nothing to do with the flames. Each line in the square and the octagon around each flame uses W1_DamageThing (2 HP for each line), and it crashes if you move across them too fast, even while invincible. If I walked very slowly across the flames, I'd still get damaged, but it doesn't crash. I believe that I fixed the problem. Just remove the tags from the octagon lines, and increase the damage of the square lines slightly (maybe to 3 or 4 HP), and make them repeatable. Doing this, I was able to run around on those flames with no crashes at all, no matter how fast I went. I even played as a fighter with Boots of Speed. No problems. By the way, do you know of hexquak5? It's sort of an updated version with a few new textures and more maps.
