Well, regarding the topic, I've been advertising my own
TC a great time recently. It's a puzzle-based RPG that involves lots of object-oriented puzzles, diologue between character and player, and attentional to human emotion. Admittedly the map design by itself is not as technologically advanced as Caldera, but overall I think they are more organically advanced (
in the sense of ENVOKING a complex, deep and awe-inspiring landscape, rather than BEING it). Basically, if you enjoy non-D&D-style RPG, talking to NPCs in what is normally a purely kill-all-that-moves environment, and enjoy solving puzzles that depend on map structure (
and not the other way around like original Hexen), give Dark Realms a shoot. <!-- s:D --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_biggrin.gif" alt=":D" title="Very Happy" /><!-- s:D -->
One other mod to check out is Carnage Galore. Ichor comes here very frequently and he's probably the most creative programmer we've got. In his maps you will find fresh new weapons and monsters, and I guess other goody goodies. I guess the best way to learn more is to ask him, lol. <!-- s:wink: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_wink.gif" alt=":wink:" title="Wink" /><!-- s:wink: -->
As for the cheat you seek, personally I'm strongly against cheating even as a last resort, so I'd rather you set that particular goal aside and get back to it later. Though if you really can't resist temptation yes then you can check the scripts. Just open up a map editor and see if you can find the right scripts.
