Laugh at Moose thread.

Now this isn't actually an open invitation to laugh at me, but I thourght I'd share my GCSE results with you all. English Lang - F English Lit - F Maths - A Science - BB French - D Electronics - D Economics - E History - C Applied ICT - EE I almost managed to get the full range of grades but not quite . I'm very disapointed with my ICT grade, but what did I expect when I hardly did any coursework, worse bit is I actually knew more than my teacher and on one occasion actually took the class. Maths I'm happy with as was Mrs Hake my maths teacher, who didn't think I was that good untill I got top grades in a mock at christmas, since then I've been putting more and more efort into maths and IMO have become very good, shame I couldn't learn more stuff in the class I was in. History pleasently surprised me, I'm a very slow writer and only managed half of each paper. English I was expecting to get a double U so a double F was better than what I expected. Once again I'm a slow writer which doesn't help in the exams and I hate english anyway and have very little creative talent so didn't do a great deal of coursework, plus one of the bits I did do my teacher lost . Well I got one thing out of this, I managed to prove the girl who I sit next to in english wrong, she said I'd do well As to my future, I went and did some begging to the head of 6th form, I'm still doing A level Maths and Further Maths, aswell as A level Physics, I can't do A level ICT instead I have to do some CLAITplus ICT which will 'get me up to a good GCSE standard' bah. And I have to retake english (damn no suicide smilie). Wow this turned into quite a post, probably my longest ever. Grade it for me .

LOL half the stuff in here I didn't understand at all (not everybody lives on Swamp Island, you know ).

Heh heh, just cause ur old and things have changed , tell me what doesn't make sense and I'll try to explain if you want. realy I'm just trying to get some attention , no.

Well for example what grade means what - here on the continent we use numbers, you know... And also, what's ICT? Integrated Circuit Technology?

Ok A* is the highest grade than then goes to A, B, C, D, E, F, then U, U being ungraded. ICT is Information Communication Technology, used to be called IT, basicly it's our computing lessons, although I did applied ICT which had basicly no skills based work so I just pissed about on access most of the time, I made a damn good database shame it wasn't part of the cause.

RambOrc

Well for wanting to become a programmer your ICT grade is quite bad. Also, what does a double grade mean?
Thu, 26 Aug 2004 20:00:49

Moose

Basicly means that there was lots of work in that subject so you get 2 grades for it. As for my ICT grade, I choose to do applied ICT because it was worth 2 GCSEs, unfortunatally there was no Skills Based ICT in the coursework only when you got to the exam, (I got 98% in the mock exam). The coursework was worth about 70% of te grade and the exam only 30%. Oh I already mentioned that I didn't do much of the coursework.

The 4th Class

Moose, ta note pour la fran?ais me d?cevois. Aussi, ta note pour l'anglais est tr?s mauvaise pour un homme qui habite en Angleterre! j/k Je sais que tu as fait ton mieux. La meilleure chance pour l'avenir! Anyway, where I live, we use percentages as grades. The lowest passing mark is 50%.

There's nothing to be laughing about, Moose. I could NEVER get a A grade on Maths, I hate it, hate it, hate it, and even though I had a pretty good grade on english back in the day, I reckon the level of difficulty can't be conmpared, I'm pretty sure advanced english is much harder. It's like Class said, you did the best you could at the time, I just hope things will turn out ok in the end and you get your place in the college. Highschool is just general education, college on the other hand is where you will be building your capacities on another level.

Thanks guys, I've very happy with my maths result, it's the one subject I really wanted to better anyones expectations, I believe I did. Class do you have to speak french, now I have to translate it (on the internet ) Mago I also hope things turn out well in College although I looked into the CLAITplusICT I'm ment to do and I'm not impressed, they must surely be taking the piss [url:3anndli3]http://www.claithelp.fsworld.co.uk/

If it makes you happy, you did better than me on your grades (I'm not happy with them, but I'm going to work more to make them go up) and don't think I'm going to post them here .

The 4th Class

[quote="Moose":1fsyqyhz][url:1fsyqyhz]http://www.claithelp.fsworld.co.uk/ ...IMO many of those courses should be merged into one, because they're so similar. And there's no lesson that teaches even the slightest bit what the operating files are/do. How are you supposed to know how to use a computer if they they don't teach you how it works? I have a major problem with this. Nowadays when you start to learn how to use a computer, you don't need to know anything about how it operates itself, for example they completely overlook lecturing about AUTOEXEC.BAT and CONFIG.SYS.

Actually I understood most of what Class said, I'm just fooling with you, Ramborc notice fooling not screwing . Firebrand I'm sure you didn't do that badly, but I'm sure you did as well as you could. My dad went out today and held up to his end of our deal, if I get into 6th form he'll buy me a graphical calculator, I now own a 'Casio Color Power Graphic CFX-9850G' and it's very nice even if it does only have 3 colours .

Yeah! The newest calculators can solve integrals and make graphics of any kind of math function, they are great for math exams. And thanks for your comment Moose, I'm sure I can make better than I have the next period.
