I've been thinking about this for some time now... People keep calling Korax Mod II just "Korax Mod", many never even played the 1.0 or 1.1 version. Truth to be told, there isn't much reason nowadays anyway neither. While it was IMO good marketing to call KMOD 2.0 Korax Mod II at the beginning, now months later when it isn't new any more neither it doesn't make much sense any more. The same goes for the winter theme, while it was good marketing too (it allowed to put it into the RavenGames Xmas collection, in that time frame every 5th KMOD2 download was from RavenGames.com), it's somewhat pointless for a mod that'll last more than a couple of months (downloads are increasing all the time, just checked today and total downloads for KMOD1.x are 1147 and for 2.x 1028, by the end of this month KMOD2 d/l might surpass KMOD1 ones, 40 days ago it was 877:572, since the end of February there were 270 KMOD1 d/l and 456 KMOD2 ones). The point is, while KMOD2 has a lot of new features over KMOD1, in the long run they're pretty much the same mod if compared to other Korax projects. So my proposition is to merge them, i.e. - calling it Korax Mod (regardless whether it's 1.0, 1.1, 2.0, 2.1 or 2.2) - merging the KMOD and KMOD2 website (i.e. everything is under www.korax-heritage.com/koraxmod afterwards) - making new title screen and credit screens (bye-bye, frozen landscape) - remaking the shops with some of the new custom textures from the Scattered Evil stuff To summarize, Korax Mod will last for years, obviously. 10 months after the release of the 1st version, download count is still steadily increasing, what's more, it grows even faster than at the beginning. Sticking to things that were valid at the release time but not afterward isn't a very future-proof idea IMO. I don't discard the possibility that there'll be KMOD development after 2.2, but I find it very unlikely. So I'd like to package 2.2 in a way that it can be THE Korax Mod for years to come, in a final form as far as possible. If anyone has any arguments against this merge, drop them here ASAP, thanks.
