I've got some good news, I contacted with some guy at the DRD forums and asked him if he could compile a master server executable for linux for us, he had succeed and I've uploaded the binaries for it to KDev: [url:39gi7jb4]http://downloads.orcishweb.com/koraxdev/KoraxArena/karena_master_server_bin.zip I would like to ask again, if we already have the server available, could you (Ramborc) upload the executable and give us the IP address of the server so that we could do some internal tests of online play? That would rock!

If I don't forget and the instructions in the ZIP archive are clear, I'll install it on the server.

It's straight through, just unzip the 'master' executable and the dedicated server executable somewhere and make sure they are running, then just post the IP of the server here and I'll provide you all with instructions to set KA to broadcast your games after that .

I always think of it when I am not at my home computer.

I checked the package at home, but there are no instructions whatsoever what to do, the zip includes the folder "bin" with seven files: acc fixmd2 glvis vavoom-dedicated.bin vavoom-master vcc vlumpy

You just need to unzip both the vavoom-master and vavoom-dedicated somewhere on the server and make sure they are running fine .

Since it is supposed to work over the internet it surely uses a port which I might have to open on the firewall.

Hmm, I don't really remember which ports are the ones it uses... if I'm not mistaken I think it's port 26000.

What's the status on this?

As always I forgot about it, sorry.
