KA campaign ideas

I guess it's time to start the brainstorming for the KA SP campaign(s). Here some ideas: 1) A KTH match in Heresiarch's Seminary, background story of the original Hexen, with the little twist that when the Heresiarch dies, something strange happens and one of the heroes who has slain him becomes a Heresiarch. Available for the original Hexen chars. 2) A defensive Castle Sweep mode in the Citadel where you and your team of elves try to defend the citadel from the hordes of D'Sparil, this takes place shortly before the original Heretic story starts. Available only for the Heretic char.

What about puzzle maps where player must reach exit by passing trhough numerous traps and puzzles?

I was thinking more in the way of trying to find story elements to put them together to a campaign of KA matches, like e.g. the Heretic campaign could be the story of D'Sparil's attack, like the first match being the monsters coming in from the sea at the Docks and your job being to defend and destroy incoming ships or whatever, and later matches would be a progression with a map and storytelling between matches that'd show how the elves are being pushed back and their city being destroyed step by step. We could use original Heretic scenery elements like the map of City of the Damned, the orginal graphics and music and moving text for briefings/story between missions etc.

It may make more sense if these campaigns were done in co-operative mode, keeping the MMO spirit of the mod. Though the actual ideas you had for the campaigns themselves were cool.

Sounds cool! <!-- s8) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_cool.gif" alt="8)" title="Cool" /><!-- s8) --> And IMO it's not too difficult to implement them using the new additions Crimson Wizard made for game modes events, since ACS scripts can already access them directly, I guess we can combine any gameplay mode we want for any campaign, so it's just a matter of adding new stuff for the maps and doing the scripting work <!-- s:) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" title="Smile" /><!-- s:) -->. I like your idea for the Heretic campaign Ramborc.

You know, if you need cool "rare or not at all used in other places" skins, download "In purciut of Greed" (at least a demo), open in with XWE, select "auto" palette....some nice enemies there, and other "usable" stuff, like projectiles and HUD weapons.....cool music also

After some thinking, I'd say the campaign mode should be a pure coop thing, being most similar to the team castle sweep mode of KA, but with a couple of fixed objectives on maps (and maybe a limitation on what chars can play, though that could be a setting before starting a map, i.e. suitable characters only or any character). In an extreme situation this could simply include e.g. all 9 maps of Heretic/City of the Damned with very little tweaks, just updated for KA coop instead of Heretic coop. Feel free to discuss or bring new ideas, the campaign mode is not for 1.0 but for 1.1.

I'd like to see a campaign mode where not only does each mission have a unique objective, but also tells a story. Best examples I have right now are the Warcraft series, also Goldeneye if anybody here's played it. BTW, what is the current state of campaign game now? Near completion, or still in the drawing board?
