Today, 27th of september, is the 21st aniversary of the death of Cliff Burton, one of the greatest figures in heavy metal, and arguably the best bassist ever known. May he rest in peace. Here's the article for him in case you don't know what I'm talking about. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cliff_Burton

Yeah, it will be always in my hearth. Rest in peace, Clifford Lee Burton, let's smash some eardrum of your neighbours wherever you are /me plays Anesthesia (Pulling Teeth) in loop

May Cliff rest in peace. \m/ He was a gifted man and quite frankly it was him that really gave Metallica that huge boost in the beginning. He is still missed, and heavy metal prematurely lost one of its most promising pioneers. Grr, and today's also my mom's birthday, and 2 days before mine. PS: Overall my favourite bassist would have to be Geddy Lee. But that's a very frustrating decision to make... so many to choose from! PS2: Nice to see you on KDev Scen.

Metallica was really a bunch of nobodies except for Mustaine, who they fired, and Cliff. After the accident, they really drifted away... they sold out an album later, and then they even cut their hair! Burton's death also destroyed a much better band than Metallica: Flotsam & Jetsam. Metallica stole bassist Jason Newsted, a personal change from which Flotsam & Jetsam never recovered. Before, they made the best speedthrash ever. After, something mediocre barely worth listening to.

That was a bit more due to the fact that the rest of Metallica were idiots rather than because of Cliff's death. And a funny thing, I believe that Jason Newsted sings a hell lot better than Hetfield. He should at least have been a vocalist.

Newstead is such a band whore. After Metallica he just lost it, and now he's nothing more than a sexy face on mainstream TV. I'm still very pissed Voivod let him in their ranks, IMO that really damaged both their creativity, and their reputation.
