I would like to me a KH musician
Fri, 05 Dec 2003 03:56:34
Hi, Korax's Heritage!
I would like to sign on to be a part of the team. I'm applying for a job as a musician (making songs for levels, intros, etc.) and I have a few samples to demonstrate. These are my personal compositions, so if you like them, that's great!
This song is very heavy, yet very melodic.
A much softer, orchestral piece.
I am particularly proud of this one.
So what do you think?

Lucas you had me confused there for a second, (once again).
I like your compositions, though I must say Jachr was my personal favourite of the 3. You used it in your demo maps you released several months ago, yes?
About being pre-occupied with school, don't worry to much we all have other personal things that come first, for me it also happens to be school

EEK...sorry about that.
You're right, Jachr is in Dark Realms (MAP02). To be honest, it's also one of my favourite Dark Realms compositions (the most recent updated version and not just the demo), because it had the most miraculous conception I'd even seen. I recorded the song track by track, and the tracks don't sound that good by themselves. Nevertheless, when the multilayering came to, it just built up.
Thank you for the feedback. I'm gratified I satisfied you with my work. I just hope Ramborc enjoys it too.

Your music is cool, hope to hear more of it, heh! Welcome to the team!

I like some parts of it, I always wanted to make my own little midis since I played Hexen on Nintentod 64. Mind telling me what you use to make them? Like, pc software...and don't say "Keyboards"..argg..[/color:1jdz9k13]

MIDI making can be tons of fun.
I use
Cakewalk Home Studio 2000 to make the MIDIs, but I guess I'm a little out of date . This program is very professional: it's perfect for beginners and experts. I recommend this program to everybody.
As for the keyboards, the best part about Home Studio is that you don't even need a keyboard! You can enter the notes with a click of the mouse.
I generally record on the keyboard, but I found that my beat was very inaccurate when it was on the computer, so I often just input the notes with the mouse for the final draft (
My keyboard is also a small 5-track studio that can record up to 5 songs). I record the songs in the keyboard, just so I know it sounds good, then I enter the notes on the computer by manually using the mouse.
Mon, 15 Dec 2003 22:28:52
If your beat is inaccurate, you can always quantisise (?) (in German it's "quantisieren") the notes.
Mon, 15 Dec 2003 23:06:19
Hey that's actually a good idea (BTW It's "Quantize" ).
I never thought about that. I'll give it a try.
Mon, 15 Dec 2003 23:47:03
So, RambOrc, I'm guessing German is your mother language. Am I right?
Tue, 16 Dec 2003 00:14:27
No. I was over 18 when I first started to learn it.
Tue, 16 Dec 2003 01:35:51
Rats, I was wrong again .
I wanted to take a course on German in Grade 10, but when I was in Grade 9, very few people applied for the course, so my high school dropped it. I think they dropped it for good. If I'm lucky, the school will open a Spanish course (I heard talk about it).
Tue, 16 Dec 2003 09:08:07
OTOH now 10 years later German is my functional mother tongue, if not the official one.
Wed, 17 Dec 2003 01:54:58
This is my first attempt at writing a >2 word sentence in German:
?brigens, ich bin in einem Tanzkurs in meiner Schule, und unser Wintererscheinen war heute morgen. Wir waren sehr gut.

PS: I did some breakdancing too - frightened my mom because at one time I was doing a handstand and sometimes it appeared I was dangerously near the edge of the stage, but I didn't feel I was that close.
Wed, 17 Dec 2003 11:20:09
"Wintererscheinen"? What is that supposed to mean?
Wed, 17 Dec 2003 13:23:28
Oops ... I tried my best, and this is the ultimate peak of my German language knowledge.
I tried to say "Winter show," but I see where I messed up - when I went to a server to translate "Wintererscheinen" to English, I saw what I did wrong. I think I made "Show" a verb and not a noun .
Wed, 17 Dec 2003 20:14:45
LOL... "show" as a noun could be translated as "Vorf?hrung".
Thu, 18 Dec 2003 01:25:05
Well the lesson I learned today is to never trust servers for translating [/color:if2xp5bp] .[/color:if2xp5bp]
I know I'm a linguist at heart, because for several years now I have actually attempted to write a language of my own.
Thu, 18 Dec 2003 10:58:49
LOL French is a language I can speak a bit and understand quite a lot when spoken by native speakers but I can barely read it and not write at all...
Fri, 19 Dec 2003 02:40:47
LOL I'm the exact opposite.
I've always found reading and writing in French easier than actually speaking it, because when I read or write, I do it at my own pace (usually not as fast). When I'm speaking, OTOH, it's too on the spot for me, and my vocabulary just goes blank when I'm on the spot.
As far as fluency goes I'm still unilingual, and my French language teachers the past years weren't the greatest, but this year I hope to get a good French teacher.
Fri, 19 Dec 2003 07:29:47
I was learning French at scool, but I haven't used it since I finished it and forgot a lots of things. OTOH since I'm now living in Cyprus, I'm learning Greek now.
Fri, 19 Dec 2003 19:18:59
I feel a little dump here.. i know only a little english and a LOT spanish lol
Fri, 19 Dec 2003 20:36:35
I just said that since everbody is talking with native languages, I'll use my portuguese a bit too.
Anyway, like Janis said, I also had French in Highschool, but forgot big bits of it since then. Even though, I think I understood pretty much everything you were saying 4rth Class. Also understood everything Nightwolf said, since Spanish is very close to Portuguese (in fact I'm obliged by College to read both in Spanish and French, but since I'm not familiar with the last, I guess I'm loosing a lot of great books...).
Fri, 19 Dec 2003 20:39:22
what do you think about languages? The more the best? Or not? Eh... maybe this must be another topic...
Fri, 19 Dec 2003 21:44:42
The more the best! Learn as much as you can, so touring the world can be much easier.
Don't be afraid to speak a new language.
Usted no debe estar asustado hablar una nueva lengua.

but more fun if you speak only a little lol
Fri, 19 Dec 2003 22:36:01
Personaly I don't like learning french, but maybe thats because I'm being forced to do it.
Fri, 19 Dec 2003 22:37:44
I'm being forced to do it too, but I was the only one in my class not to hate the teacher so I got better marks
Sun, 21 Dec 2003 02:25:18
You should apply yourself: it's very important to learn languages - it opens wide horizons in terms of learning and developing oneself.
By the way, when are you going to show the other musics you were talking about in the first post? Or do you plan to show it only for the team members...?
Sun, 21 Dec 2003 05:02:54
I don't know what you're talking about.
