Good Evening Gentlemen. I have a little, tiny, just a piece of a problem... I?m playing KMod 2 on skill 3 for now just for fun, in level(hub)3 of Hexen (Seminary) with this stats: Points-184283 Level-13 Strenght-39 Efficiency-05 Speed-18 I?m playing with the fighter, and I don?t seem able to increase my Efficiency more than 05 points...When I got points to spend I can only do it on Strenght and/or Speed but not in Efficiency...why?Am I so bad that I?m unable to increase my Efficiency? Is that it? That's perfectly normal for any skill level. For the mage, it's the same thing, only with strength (or is it speed). It's like that because the main strength of the fighter is not in those long distance weapons, but in the power of the melee weapons (the melee version of the sword especially). Throw in the Berserk, and you've got someone that can wipe out all but the most powerful of enemies in one or two hits. After you reach level 8 or so and get all of the fourth weapon, mana should no longer concern you for the rest of the game.

O.K. I got it...I guess I should have read the manual... So that makes a diferent game for every character/class...I need to play it at least 3 times to get the full experience...Alright, lets get on with the killing... Thanx a lot...

Just remember that a mere Quartz Flask can restore all of those Rage points, which makes fighting enemies like the Heresiarchs and Korax a bit easier.

*sigh* Anyway, already in Hexen it were more or less 3 games when you played with 3 different classes, in KMOD2 the differences are way greater. If you enjoyed the fighter's 200+ HP towards the end, you won't enjoy the Mage's 15 HP at the beginning (which goes up to 30 or so at the time you reach Korax ). Efficiency for the Fighter is very low so even at best setting he'll use double the mana than in Hexen. While thanx to extreme high strength and Berserker it's not much of an issue to use the unpowered versions of the Axe and the Sword (you still do a lot more damage than the mana-powered versions in Hexen), it quite definitely means that you won't shoot around wildly, even less than in Hexen. Oh yes, and if you can't beat Korax, then just keep the savegame and wait for the patch.

Of course, in the regular Hexen we already had 3 classes, but now we have 3 classes with a very different gameplay...besides the experience points... Yes, I?ll have to adapt different skills to different gameplay...cool!I think it is great, Hexen is much more fun this way...(I need to try it with higher skills)

Just take the original Hexen manual, read up what the supposed differences between the 3 character classes are, and you know everything about Korax Mod (II) character balance. We took the original ideas and just carried them further on. This will somewhat change in Scattered Evil, if we can get it in under deadline there'll be 2 subclasses for each class. The current 4-weapons-per-character system will be scrapped as well, you might use dozens of weapons with the fighter and not a single one with the mage, except for magical staffs. <blockquote><font size="1" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">quote

I don't know about KMOD2, but it's definitive that you can't beat Korax Mod with the fighter on skill 5 (I tried it and failed the moment I encountered the first Wendigos). With enough patience, you might beat the game with the mage on skill 5 (in both mods), though it might get a lot like ShadowCaster (when all Magic depleted, running to a safe place, saving the game, going to take a walk, coming back, if no monster found and killed your Mage, save the game again, and continue on playing now with full Magic).
