Hi there. I'm the new team member, the one who pretends to be an artist. I'm here to ask if any of you know a site where I can get some tutorials about sprite art and edition. I've been searching the net for a long time, but didn't find anything useful (just for programming). Anyway, I would like to say hello to everybody from the team, and if I may be of any help, please don't hesitate to contact me! Thanks for the time, and sorry if I shouldn't be posting this here. See you. PS: RambOrc, if you read this, be sure to check out your mail-box. I sent lots of ideas and some samples for you.

You know, the post-it note about finding you some good tutorials is still on my desk (among with dozens of others), so one day something might even happen in this direction... Also, took a quick look at the stuff, haven't been able to examine it thouroughly yet. (Why do days consists of a mere 24 hours of which I have to waste some on stupid things like eat and sleep? )

Oh yes, what about Sylon? Is he still in the team? I would like very much to speak to him... He's very talented, and I'm sure I could learn som things with him.

RambOrc, do you really think the NPC's should have 3 positions while they are talking (I'm not talking about the "frames", only about the pov-front, front-left and front-right)? I think we should see the "talking" animation only when we are facing the sprites's front. Unless you want them to speak with each other, so we could walk around them and still see that they are talking... Now about something else: Is there any way I could have the sprites, graphics, patches and flats from Heretic (in a wad fromat)? It would be very useful. I could work on them to make moddifications...new things, in general! [ February 11, 2002: Message edited by: Mago ]

Now that one I could do. It shouldn't be that hard to remove all the sprites in the wadfile and make a new one with just the sprites. I just need to know where to send this to. Never mind. I found the address. Here's the file, but it's rather large (3.30 MB). [ February 11, 2002: Message edited by: Ichor ]

Thanks, but I don't think it will make it to my mail-box, since it usually don't accept e-mails larger than 1,75 mb, I guess... Is there any other way, like send it in parts, or really compressed? You could also try other e-mail address: magno.scavoni@sapo.pt

There is an old program out there that the people from id used to shrink down the Doom games to two or more parts with the extension .1, .2, .3, etc. It's called ICE (De-ICE is what you use to merge it all back together). If I could remember what the name stood for, I might be able to find it again.

Well, it would be cool... In the meantime, could I talk with you about my ideas, and how could we put them to work in the future game (Serpent P.)?

Hey Ichor, the file you sent didn't work well, but nevermind, because I think I'll get the Heretic cd, so I won't need the wad anymore. Thanks anyway.
