My Hexen passion has recently been revitalized. I've been playing some WADs, skulltagging, and trying to learn from Kevin Schilder's music style by recreating his E1M3 Midi from Heretic and I'm attempting to make a chapel-style remake of the Winnowing Hall theme. One thing I wanted to do for a long time was create sprites of the heresiarch mounted on korax D'sparil-style.
The problem was that years ago I was a terrible artist, and the best I could have hoped to do would be a crappy looking copy paste edit mashing the established heresiarch sprites onto the Korax-sprite, when of-course the job calls for new sprites of the heresiarch in the mounted riding position. What I've done so far is in the rudimentary beginning stages but I'm so impatient I'll post an image anyway.

As you see, all I've done right now is a basic outline of what it would look like from the profile view and haven't filled in the detail at all. One of the possibly problematic things I've noticed is that, when comparing the heretic and hexen sprites, Heresiarch is much taller than D'sparil, and wider in girth too, yet Korax is, surprisingly, about the same height of a chaos serpent, and he is quite skeletal. And D'sparil is sitting on the chaos serpent's neck. Now imagine that big heresiarch sitting on Korax's long, scrawny, not so durable neck. It must be painful for the poor serpent. But as you can see from what I've drawn, it is feasable, I guess. I mean, it's not impossible for the heresiarch to fit there, you just have to have a suspension of disbelief in logic (you know, like how giant spiders would realistically collapse and die because their larger bone mass would make them so heavy they would be immobile, but that's no fun).
I might continue fleshing this out, or I might just get lazy and quit. Posting it here just because.
