RambOrc- I read a message from you on the ravenforums and something just occured to me. Is there a way to update a WINME DOS drivers? I'm not that well known with drivers and the DOS drivers never came to mind. I got a friend who CANNOT play many of his DOS games (except KMOD with hexen) but anything else just WONT run, but I have WINME also and everything runs so fine....Do DOS drivers exsist that could fix these problems? <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_eek.gif" alt=":shock:" title="Shocked" />

AFAIK there's no way to install DOS drivers in any Winblows version w/o screwing up the OS... previous Win9x releases had at least a more or less standalone DOS sandbox, but I think ME doesn't have even that. The difference between his and your machine is most probably what kind of hardware you use, for some h/w (like standard SoundBlasters) M$ most probably included drivers for the DOS emulation, that's why they work. Not to mention it's a question of h/w as well, older graphics cards more often have built-in legacy display modes with higher compatibility toward old DOS stuff... I could run an over 10-year-old DOS game on my Matrox Mystique 220 in VGA mode at normal speed, whereas on my newer Matrox G400 Max it was so slow I had a faster gameplay on the 286 I played that game the first time on...

Damn..so you mean it's all because of his Video card and sound card? <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_eek.gif" alt=":shock:" title="Shocked" /> WOW.but we BOTH have the sae sound cards ( his is 1 mark higher) and same with his video card...damnit...ok, but it makes sense how older cards were made to run on DOS a bit better and so on, as the NEW cards have no use for DOS features..ok then I gotcha..also, would updating your systems OS drivers help?

Most probably you're the only one who finds that funny. I'm sure I'm not the only one around here who is slowly getting sick of you defacing these forums (I don't talk about the content itself now, but the way you use tons of smilies, bold face for every fucking post, and lately even larger than normal font sizes). One of these days, I just might configure the forums to disallow simple users (who are neither mods nor admins) to edit their posts. Then when you post something, I or Moose woould go and delete the bold face code (and the dozens of smilies and the extra font size code). There are 2 things keeping me back from that, one is that it'd hamper the freedom of other users, and the other that it'd be a kind of censoring I don't want to do. I'd appreciate if you'd now look at yourself and change your attitude (maybe even go back and edit your posts to remove the unnecessary font codes if you feel social). I'm ready to put up with you posting anything - as long as you do it in the Off-Topic forum and do NOT use visual crapping. Thanks.

I'm with Ramborc, the bold is what gets me the most its like typing in CAPs (i.e. I shout out what you type, yes I'm weird but I'm happy). I have been wanting to take out the bold for ages. But haven't, actually I even fixed one of your posts when you had a broken bold.

You know what. I WON'T stop using large font when I feel like posting something funny. It's not about bandwidth, it's about annoyance level (not to mention the more different smileys on a page, the longer it takes to display, as that many more requests need to be sent). As for these forums being "dead", the real reason is that our last release (KMOD 2.2) was 5 months ago, and our news in the meantime were posted only on the Korax site (and a couple of them on RavenGames). As for the visuals, I'm not going to ban you, but one of these days I might get pissed enough to simply break the font codes in phpBB itself (which would be nearly as barbarous an approach of social communication than what you're doing here).

I don't mind what you post, it keeps the forums alive and um... stuff. Its just the bold that annoys me I don't really know why it just does. Oh and you saying bold is there to be used is true, but it is there to be used to make words stand out.

In case it wasn't clear, I can't disable a feature for this or that user. Once I break (note the word, it's not accidentally used) PHPBB to disallow font attributes, nobody will be able to use them any more. Meaning if you drive your game as far as to make me do this, you won't screw me, you'll screw everyone. Unless you don't care shit about anyone else in here, you don't want to do this.
