I'm not sure what the prob is, you should just copy hexdd.wad into your KMOD2 dir, then open autoexec.cfg and edit it: - delete all "load shopx.wad" lines - add the line "load hexdd.wad" - make sure after the last line in the file there is an extra carriage return (an empty line) save autoexec.cfg and start up KMOD2, it should take you right to the Deathkings maps.

Well, that is a good solution, but then I?ll end up with no shopings between the maps don?t I? Anyway, thank you I?ll give it a try...

Yep, we never thought of the shop thingie. Korax Mod (the 1st one) should run w/o a hitch with Deathkings, but the KMOD2 shops went forgotten. Since we're preparing a patch for KMOD2 anyway (don't worry nothing big's broken ), we'll look into the possibilit of adding shops to the HexenDK level flow as well.

Death Kings is working like a dream with Korax Mod 2 now, even without the shops (they are important but secondary to gameplay, I think...!).Now, what about a patch? Everything is perfect, it seems to me, why patching KMod2? Well, you?re the boss you should know better...! Thank you very much for all you did guys, you?ve given us a new Hexen (at least a new reason to play Hexen again...and its great!!!) "It?s not the Kill...It?s the thrill of the Chase..."

Well there are a couple of bugs we know of... not to mention the patch might add shop support to HexenDK, but if you really don't want to have it, you don't have t download it, (j/k)

Are you insane? Of couse I want to have it!Since I fond out KMod2 I?ve been unable to play any other game( I got 85 games installed in my HD, and I quit R.t.C.Wolfenstein,Aliens 2 and Op. Flashpoint for HexenRPG) did I need to say more???

All I can say is WOW... I never thought KMOD2 is that good. I wonder what you'll say about Scattered Evil which'll include even more new stuff. p.s. what's "Flashpoing for HexenRPG"?

"Flashpoing for HexenRPG" eheheh...!You?re in a funny mood, dont you? Dont you know "what" is Operation Flashpoint...?Do you still live in this planet?Well...you should, Captain...! What I was trying to say was that I left behind 3 great single player experiences for an RPG version of Hexen, your Mod!And it has been an even better experience. Did I make myself clear now? And by the way, I?ve been reading your old posts about the gameplay of Heretic,Hexen,Doom,Strife and DarkForces, and I just need to ask you this: I never finished Strife or Darkforces cause I was on the middle of them when I changed to WinXP and now cannot run them...Is there some GLport for this games?Do you Know of some?Vavoom engine does not work and there was a sweddish guy working on a D3D version of DarkForces (The Dark Project) I?ve seen some impressive screenshots of it,but he vanished in Brazil and never finished the port... As for Strife, I think that Rogue never released the source code, is that it?

Hey I didn't even write that one advertently so, LOL... BTW HexenRPG is the official name of a project that's been started in '96 and stopped a couple of months later before getting to public release, check out the "gameplay mods" page in the Hexen section. Wow, never knew someone started a port for Dark Forces, I mean source was never given out. As for Strife, the only one I know about is Vavoom, I don't see why it shouldn't work on WinXP, but go to http://forums.vavoom-engine.com and make there a feedback or bug report and your problem might be taken care of. Anyway, the best way to play old DOS games is in real DOS... when I first got Win95, I realized within weeks that the new DOS 7 is just so much crap and thus kept my DOS 6 disks up to this day. Yes Captain, been there, done that...Vavoom engine only works with the Strife demo not the full version (God Knows why)...Now for Darkforces: -The name of the dude was (or is)"Mattias Welander" -Sorry, I mispell the name of the thing, it?s not "The Dark Project"(That is the Theif engine), but "The Dark3D Project", my mistake... -Now check out: "The Official Dark3D Homepage" in http://dark3d.code-alliance.com, I think It is still online... -But...One sunny day I found out this: http://thedark3d.vila.bol.com.br/ ...Mr.Welander just disapears in the brazilian jungle...No word ever since...(a year ago, I think). I tried to correct the URLs in your post, the 1st one is now clickable and takes me to the Dark3D project page, the 2nd one still doesn't seem to work Anyway, since last month I've got a PowerMac G3 so I'll look around for the Mac version of Dark Forces, there are surely several differences compared to the DOS version, but the one I've known about for 5 years is that it's got a 640x480 resolution so it should be way more fun to play. You Traitor!!! Are you converted to that alien MAC technology? Did they brainwashed you? How much did they pay you? One million ?? I double that to get you back! I want to see the Heritage out, not in Mac version! Now seriously: -The second link goes like this: http://thedark3d.vila.bol.br/ -But it is in Portuguese, and there is nothing there:"This site is under construction...blablabla...by M.Welander since 10/06/2000"...Nothing more. So, you dont lose a thing... Anyway 640x480 its an acceptable resolution, but not in DOS games played in software render under a GeForce 3 Ti500 in WinXp or with a Voodoo 5 in win2000, they dont accept that, not without hardware acceleration, and that all I?ve got...no DOS support, so I think I?ll never gonna finnish Strife in a reasonable way... Thanks anyway Captain.

They didn't pay me anything, it's just that I agree to the MCPC philosophy. BTW if there'd be a Vavoom for Mac, we'd release the game on that platform as well, we'll put it out for all platforms Vavoom supports (currently Winblows 32bitch, DOS and Linux). Well I guess sooner or later Vavoom will support Strife commercial version. If you drop him a note, it'll be that much sooner.

The Mac thing was just a joke Captain...No need to be angry, I was only teasing you to see how much pressure you can handle... I?ve talked to the Vavoom guys several times, but unfortunately they dont intend to expand the port to support full Strife(lack of time, very busy...the usual...), beside that the Strife wad is pretty big(more than 20Mb,I think)so without the source code I dont even know if that is possible. Thank you very much for all your help... You guys are great. Greetings Jo?o Pedro Alves de Sousa P.S:I?m having big trouble trying to run "Hell Surface" with jHeretic 1.0, but I?ll post that on the Heretic forum.

??? Who was angry here? BTW I was hoping you'll ask me what "MCPC philosophy" is <blockquote><font size="1" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">quote

Good, then I'll answer it there.

That one is easy...MCPC its an old psychological tag that stands for Moral Conflit with Personal Complications...Now phylosophy is a bit more uncertain...I think it can be described as a "state of mind", but I?m not sure. What do you think?

LOL, I thought of something entirely else, something I invented just this morning... the MCPC I mean is: Mac = cool PC = crap
