What do you think would be better for communicating progress to the fans, a blog for each developer or a newspage like until now?

Hmm, I don't really know what to vote here, I think the news system is good for communication and should stay in the site to announce new releases, interesting stuff, etc. but I also think that the blog would be a good idea for us to have as a to do list maybe and of course to make small reports of progress to the world <!-- s:wink: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_wink.gif" alt=":wink:" title="Wink" /><!-- s:wink: --> , so I guees I vote for both of them, heh!

I meant a public blog, i.e. no todo list, but every developer could write into it any time, and unlike in a news system, it provides an environment in which even very small things can be announced without looking out of context. Like you write an entry about your dog's birthday and how your brother got drunk last Saturday, and also mention that you've finished the animation sequences for an all-new monster in KA... I think best would be some kind of portal for the main page where there is a place for news ("big" news like releases and stuff), but it's not the only place there: it'd also include a list of the latest blog updates and the latest active forum topics etc. All this shouldn't be too hard to implement I think, Janis as webmaster should say yes or no to it. Reorganizing the homepage and maybe the rest of the site could go hand in hand with the visual redesign you've been talking about for a long time BTW, Firebrand. <!-- s;) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_wink.gif" alt=";)" title="Wink" /><!-- s;) -->

I think it may be more interesting and active if we where each to have our own developer blog, but still with a news page showing major things like new versions, much like Rambo said. Of cause I guess some of it lands on Janis as he's the webmaster, but yeah you have my backing for blogs, and I'll try and update mine on a reasonably regular basis.

Well, blog is fine by me. But of course we must keep the news page.
