KMOD 4 Focus Testing: Entire 4th Episode

The entire 4th episode including 6 maps (Castle of Grief, Gibbet, Dungeons, Effluvium, Forsaken Outpust and secret level) is now available for testing.

New monsters have been hand placed in all maps, including a previously not available monster (magma stalker), making the total 9 different types of new monsters throughout the episode.

There are also some architectural upgrades in most maps, as well as a sizeable addition to the end fight room of the hub (note: later on, the Heresiarch will be replaced by a gang of Dark Advisors, currently they bug out in rooms with 3D floors).

How to play: download the ZIP below, extract it into the main KMOD 4 folder and add “-file tcsmaps.wad” to the startup options (or type “load tcsmaps.wad” in the console once the game is running).

KMOD 4 Focus Testing: Castle of Grief

Designed to run on the currently available KMOD 4.0 Beta 2, this partial rework of the Castle of Grief is now available for public testing and feedback.

Monster changes: a number of monsters have been “upgraded” to tougher versions (3 additional versions of ettins, 1 additional version of centaurs, bishops and afrits each).

Architectural changes: the lift towers at the front and rear gates have been remodeled. Also, the corner tower visible on the right side of the screenshot has been reworked, however I’m somewhat unsure about the look & feel and welcome some feedback on it.

Bug (?): Afrit martyrs don’t seem to show up.

Korax Mod 4 Beta 2

We have just uploaded a new beta of KMOD 4, you can find it here: https://sourceforge.net/projects/korax/files/Korax-Mod/4.0%20Beta/

This new beta contains some bug fixes for drawing the status bar where yellow lines could appear at the edges, it has been updated to contain the latest gameplay bug fixes from Vavoom engine, it also adds status markers for spell effects for both players and monsters and it has some new AI methods and functions for monsters.

You can post any bugs and issues you have with it on our forums so that they are fixed for the next beta release, enjoy!

Modeler/skinner needed

We are looking for a modeler/skinner (or several) who can help us with any of the following:

  • Fixing skins on existing 3D models that have small flaws
  • Creating slightly different skins for existing 3D models (so that e.g. not every tree looks the same)
  • Slightly modify existing models
  • Creating some all-new models incl. skins
