Monsters not waking up |

Description The monsters in the two Hexquake maps (Darkbough/Deepbough) are not waking up after they spawn, until you fire a weapon. (these are the first 2 maps I’ve found so far, dunno if it applies beyond) |
This issue should be mostly fixed with the rework done on dungeon maps. If still encountered in a certain spot, feel free to add a comment with the location.
While the AI is still behaving unexpectedly, I have found two ways to work around it (putting monsters in dormant state until the player reaches a certain point, and adding noise alerts to linedefs and scripts). With these workarounds, monsters should behave as expected. I haven’t added this workaround to all dungeons yet, so any feedback on where it works or doesn’t work is appreciated.
Do you mean the “deaf” flag with “ambush”? I don’t see anything else in Doom Builder.
Yes, that’s the one I mean, in the engine it’s called bAmbush, but in editors it can be “deaf”, whichi means enemies will only start attacking when they see the player.
In that case, it currently does the opposite of what it’s supposed to do, the monsters are currently blind instead of deaf. 🙂
Maybe related to the Ambush flag on enemies? Check the reported map.
