Wishing everybody a happy Halloween!

The 4th Class

This year I'm going out as King Diamond (you've heard of him, RambOrc? ), and everybody was impressed with my costume! With luck, I'll be able to show a photo to you all eventually.

RambOrc, you should be happy to know that this year, while I gave out candy to the little ones, I blasted Keeper Of The Seven Keys Pt. 1 at maximum volume.

Luckily Eve of all Hallows doesn't mean a lot here.

Well in all truths, Halloween doesn't mean shit anymore... It's been so bastardized and commercialized by Capitalism and marketing that it's just an excuse for the junk food and costume industries to make a profit.

Hehe, it's one of those traditions a guy don't have the slightest idea of it's origins... Just like Carnival (?), Christmas, etc... I mean, you know WHY it's a "holy"day but you can't really imagine how the procedures developed to it's current state. I do remember though there's a "urban myth" that states today's Santa Claus whole appearance and costume comes directly from Coca-Cola image advertising (you know, the red and white costume). Some say he had traditional clothing before Coca-Cola's version, that is for some reason now world-wide accepted. Never bothered to look into it, but if this is true, I guess they must be pretty proud of themselves, no? Graphic design at it's best.

ok cheap alert, now that halloween is over you can take that disturbing thing from your avatar. thanks The closed neighborhood (private security) where i live now is quite new, so there a lot of young marriages with little kids. I don't know why but parents encourage their kids to go out in costume and ask for candy... it pisses me off quite a lot If you think a bastardized holyday is bad, figure out how bad is for a society to copy it ... and be proud...

That's not quite good, I sadly see my own traditions on these days are being "thrown away" by halloween and other american traditions, I couldn't find our very own traditional sugar skulls (they really exist ), or the "papel picado" cut paper for english speakers, which is mainly a piece of paper made with scissors to represent different images of death , I couldn't even find the traditional candies we eat this days, I think there are some things we must keep doing and others which might change to adapt to modern times, but this is not the best way to do it.
