Ssssh, this is just an underhanded trick to get some more open praise for the mod.

I downloaded it. You don't have to change the autoexec to play DK, you just need the wad. That's nice . It's about time someone put some music in instead of that boring silence (even some music from the ending when you find the chaos sphere).
quote:
Ssssh, this is just an underhanded trick to get some more open praise for the mod.

What, are you trying to scrounge some quotes for your site? I know there's a "Praise for Kmod" in there somewhere [ June 21, 2002: Message edited by: Sir Billiam ]

Actually, we're planning a small wad that will enable you to have MIDI music in the original DOS version of Deathkings as well (and thus in any port too). Your thanks goes BTW to Janis and a guy from the Vavoom forums. Regarding the praises collection, no I didn't mean to get some more out of you, I just wanted to hear some encouraging feedback that makes me want to get right on with Scattered Evil. Try combining that sentance with the topic of the thread.

That's another question. Why in the heck was there no music in DK? Were DK's makers too lazy to make any?

DK had no MIDI tracks assigned to the maps, only tracks on the Hexen Audio CD. In KMOD 2.2 and higher, we've got a patch integrated that assigns MIDI tracks to the maps.

Also, there's a patch for the expansion pack that fixes that problem and adds the music.

Well, now i'm playing 2.6. Just because NOW i've got again Hexen. I want to thank you guys the new rpg elements. I'm on the 3th level. I hope you guys make soon a new version with more rpg elements, more weapons, and so, but with the same Hexen Feeling (i like the original levels) I like heretic monsters... could be possible to add those monsters (that can change the original hexen with a random value?) Not replace, adding more monsters. (and maybe play heretic levels, but i like hexen more) One question... it's possible to play with 60fps, or im sticked with 35fps? What about adding support for hi-res textures? Ps: Sorry my soo poor english, but... well

There'll be a greatly modified new KMOD version out before the end of this year (can't say yet when exactly). You don't need 60 fps, 35 and even 30 fps is absolutely sufficient provided your frame rate never drops below this number. Hi-res textures aren't planned ATM, especially not for KMOD.

C'ome on, 35 FPS can be enough, 25 yet... but 60 fps make a games sweet, and help to see things when moving. (helps my eyes). Please, i ask only a option where players can play with it... Or here you all hate 60 fps... then... well... i can live with it, but... Remember Bill Gate's 640k is enough? lol

RambOrc

The 35 fps limitation is from the underlying engine and we can't change that (at least not easily).

dj_jl

OTOH Scattered Evil will be using Vavoom, that doesn't have 35FPS limit.
...or just nobody downloaded it? Dunno, I didn't dl it yet. It's been off for ages and don't worry it will still be done.

Korax Arena isn't yet officially announced and it was taken off because its section was empty. There'll be some info there once the project is officially announced.

Well I dl'ed the 2.6 version of KMod today. I'll give it a go soon. But how come you guys didn't implement that cloaked enemy idea I said months back? It seemed like a cool idea. You know how ppl are frozen from the Ice Weapons? And the enemy looks transparent? Well why not increase the shade of blue on that and make it very very lighter so it appears like a cloaked enemy? Sound good? You could make a few more enemies like this. Or, If you wanted another type of cloak, make the entire enemy frame transparent and make a thin grey outline around the body, thus seeing the cloaked outline of the body. Would be nice to have cloaked enemies in Hexen also.[/color:eggwroji]
