No thanks, Hexen II sucks in comparison to Hexen.

[quote="RambOrc":19n6e6ew]No thanks, Hexen II sucks in comparison to Hexen. For me, it didn't "suck," just that it lacked innovation and enthusiasm. I couldn't "connect" with the world. Ah screw it, it sucked.

Besides, the engine works very different in many ways, something like KMod could be done, but it's not worth the effort of changing and fixing the load of bugs the original game had . Personally I found Hexen II to be a difficult game to run, it always crashed for me for different stupid things and the only time I made it work fine, I played through the game and finished thinking "what a terrible waste of time...", the game feels as if it's development was too rushed, the engine if filled with bugs and there's very little variety of enemies and puzzles in the game IMO.

Hexen II has a horrible code layout and has more imposed limits than Quake even.

I disagree, it's cool I want such too that's reminds me I haven't got any. About Hexen - I wonder, will Raven continue fantasy series using modern engines? Game like Hexen can look well on Doom3 engine IMO.

i beleive there's already a TC happening, trying to get hexen stuff onto doom3..http://edgeofchaos.planetdoom.gamespy.c ... uction.htm far from done, though.

If you mean continuing the Hexen series, I don't think there's anything else to continue. Ever since they released the source code, they've considered Hexen an abandoned project, and they don't seem to want to talk about it anymore. So maybe it's more likely they'll just start a new fantasy series from scratch.

Unfortunately, that seems the truth .

I'd rather have Humanhead do a new one anyway

Raven will probably never again do an own fantasy game - the vast majority of the guys who worked on the old fantasy titles are long gone, replaced by guys with different interests. The screenshots and the movie look pretty good in some ways, though I don't really see the point of copying something old into something new. I mean if I'd ever start a game project on a new engine, I'd also scrap the whole Heretic/Hexen universe and do something else from scratch. The point of Korax' Heritage is among others that it's the same game, just enhanced in gameplay and backdrop. I mean if you want a modernized Hexen, your first step on the way is to start with Hexen II anyway, not trying to modernize an even older game in the series.

there cant be a new hexen/heretic because all the sepent riders are gone
