Stable Multiplayer

I gather that the instability of this mod's multiplayer function has its main culprit in the engine used(jhexen, right?). Are there plans being made anywhere to correct this? I ask this because this mod creates an incredibly amasing game to play. However, I'd love to be able to go through this game with someone else. I've always liked the theme of party cooperation, and to see it implimented within my favorite game would be a great moment for me.

We have no plans to enhance jHexen any way, we'll switch to a new engine (Vavoom) for our upcoming (not yet announced) multiplayer mod. BTW the original Hexen you can play in coop through LAN.

Hmm. I figure that mod is on the back burner right now? (I know you can play hexen regularly through DM, but stock Hexen doesn't have as drastic of a difference between classes)

KMOD was planned to be abandoned after 2.2 (there were only very few minor things that would've been changed/added for a newer release, and 2.21 was never released) and this was officially communicated back in June, when KMOD 2.2 was released as the last version of this mod. In the meantime, it was decided upon to release a new version (most probably 2.5) with some of the enhancements from Scattered Evil (most important of them the damage skins for monsters) and the bugfixes from the never-released 2.21, but unless it will contain new bugs, this 2.5 will be even more surely the last version ever, at least based on jHexen. I don't rule out the possibility of a KMOD 3 based on Vavoom, which would enable to implement new things, especially in the multiplayer area. But you shouldn't count on it as IMO our future projects are simply more interesting for both us as developers and you as fans (feel free to express it if you disagree, we make this stuff after all for you all). While KMOD multiplayer is very unstable and undeveloped, it'll be mainly replaced by our upcoming multiplayer mod, especially the deathmatch part.

It's the Internet play that isn't stable.

Well I played KMOD on LAN with Camper too and it crashed after 30 minutes on average, and since you can't load net savegames, it makes coop pretty pointless.
