SF Features

Hey, this is mainly for Janis and Rambo as they are the main 2 people with admin status on our source forge account. I was looking over the site for another SF hosted project and noticed that they had a link to a bug tracker, which seemed to be a SF feature. It was, it seems that SF has a few trackers, and me and Firebrand where wondering if one of you 2 would set them up for use. As we feel these could be useful. Mainly the bug tracker and the feature request tracker, so pretty please. Unless you are working on a better solution.

If Janis agrees, IMO you two could get admin status there too, you've been on the team long enough.

Sounds good, and I looked at the site statistics aswell, we are still getting a few download from source forge, 2 last month. So maybe we should update the KMod versions on there.

Sounds good! I think we should put every file we have here over there, so anyone who wants to download them can do it freely.

I presume you mean every public file. Includeing or Excluding the KA betas?

RambOrc

I'd say only stuff we've released here too, i.e. KMOD sources and binaries from 1.0-3.0 plus KA betas.

What Rambo said, you never know having the files on our SF project page may help a little, well may. And on a side note, me and firebrand had a good long chat today, and got to talking about the bot AI, I think fb is going to continue with that while I venture off onto a little side project. Modifying an opensource IDE to make it a VavoomC IDE, basicly takeing somone elses work and stripping out all the stuff we won't need then building in the ability to make/load/save .vc files nativly, syntax highlighting, button in the IDE to run VCC.exe and create the wad0.wad file, etc... We both seem to agree that might be a highly useful little tool, I've just got to put a bit of work into stripping it down and building it back up again.

I gave Moose and Firebrand admin rights. The bug tracker was working all the time.

I noticed, and have been toying with the trackers, the bug and feature request trackers are set up and just need catagories for the items. I also added a private tracker to use as a to-do-list. They where there all along bug needed a little sorting out, shouldn't take me too long, anyone got ideas for bug and feature catagories?

Ooops double post, well I'll change this one to say I updated the KMod3 CVS repository last night.

[quote="Moose":3caxtweh]anyone got ideas for bug and feature catagories? I think we could categorize them by project maybe.

Thats done by a different field, I mean type of bug, weather it's graphical, networking, gameplay, etc... As to the different versions, I've put KMod2.x, KMod3.x and Korax Arena.

RambOrc

What about KMOD 1.x? Also, what's IDE?
Fri, 03 Jun 2005 15:02:15

Moose

I didn't bother with KMod1.x as it's so similar to KMod2.x in gameplay and codebase, I only seperated KMod3.x because it we where releaseing KMod2.x and KMod3.x simultaniously. IDE, stands for integrated developer environment, it's software used to program in, contains a text editor of some form, will have syntax highlighting for one or more suported languages. Will be able to compile and link your code rather than you writing a batch file to run, perhaps a de-bugger. Wikipedia may do a better job of explaining things, thar.

Actually, the gap between 1.1 and 2.0 is, while not as big as between 2.8 and 3.0, bigger than between any other two releases. I'd consider it a different branch, not just code-wise but also development history wise.

In which case I'll add KMod1.x to the bugs section, I've only put Korax Arena in the Feature Requests as I feel we probably would rather not go back to KModx.x

As I already mentioned publicly I've finished setting up the trackers you can can get to all of them via this link [url:54za0xxr]http://sourceforge.net/tracker/?group_id=34156 you will have to be logged in to sourceforge to be able to access the private feature tracker. Unfortunatally we already seem to have someone requesting features, namely a monster brothal, I guess we let the descussion begin.

That's from Camper, he wanted this for years. <!-- s:roll: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_rolleyes.gif" alt=":roll:" title="Rolling Eyes" /><!-- s:roll: -->

I had a feeling it was either Camper or yourself, is it a feature we're likely to add? I believe Mago has created a female ettin for Dark Realms, perhaps Lucas will be good enough to let us use it to. Although shes not exactlly the best looking of females I've ever seen, urg. Sadly also better than some.

I think it's a small absurd feature, but I don't think it couldn't be implemented, if you want to do it, I don't see why not, <!-- s:lol: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_lol.gif" alt=":lol:" title="Laughing" /><!-- s:lol: -->.

Well I don't care either way, I'm neither a sicko nor the censor's office. <!-- s:P --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_razz.gif" alt=":P" title="Razz" /><!-- s:P -->

Camper obviously being the former of the 2 <!-- s:P --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_razz.gif" alt=":P" title="Razz" /><!-- s:P --> . I'm not bothered either, although it does seem a little strange.
