Okkay, if these guys are brothers, how come one talks backwards, the next one talks normally, and the last one just roars? What family would raise three siblings to speak a different language each? Likewise, the Disciples speak backwards, but the Bishops are just talking jibberish. D'sparils electric color is blue, Korax's color is purple, so what's Eidolon's color? If you look really closely at D'sparil's rhobe, on the side of it there appears to be some kind of marks like writing. It probably doesn't mean anything... but if it does, can you tell me? Also, did Raven already make up all the Serpent Riders names way back in the development of heretic, or did they just come up with them as they went along? Why did they make korax look the way it does instead of looking like a wizard riding a dragon? (or like the heresiarch) Did they have a different idea of what Eidolon would look like in the development of Heretic and hid it from us? (Then again, describing them as demon wizards wearing cloaks that you can only see their eyes in the Heretic manual already gives a pretty general/close idea already) If they're weredragons, did they used to be humans? or are they dragons with crossed human DNA? But they don't look human at all... How come D'sparil gets a cool super-chaos serpent but the ones in hexen are really really weak (and theres no difference between green and brown)? Likewise, how come Maulotaurs are so much easier to kill in Hexen and so hard to kill in heretic/hexen2? Oh yeah, what color are the characters hair? (besides the Assassin) and what do the cleric/fighter/mage's faces look like? Is that face on the centaurs' shields what their faces look like? What does D'sparil/Heresiarch/Disciple/Bishops' faces/bodies all look like??? Are the Yak Men in Hexen 2 based off the Maulotaurs? (well they probly are) but what is their real name? Does anybody else call them Yakotaurs or Ice Maulotaurs? If Ettins are made out of Fighters and Bishops are made out of Clerics, then what do mages turn into? Oh yeah, how come D'sparil gets a cool shiny weapon but the others don't? Thank you for taking time out of your busy lives, careers, and developing mods to pay attention to me =)

Hexen's player faces were blank, and I prefer playing games with that kind of anonymousity. (Another reason Hexen II was ruined by having FACES)

as far as i know, the story/design was done by differente people in each game... so... well... that pretty answers all your questions: there's no reason.

None of the three manuals was written by the people who made the game. At least in the case of Hexen II, it wasn't even written by someone at Raven Software. So what do you expect?

Okay so why's it called Seven Portals when there are eight level exits in it? (if you include bright crucible) it may not be the common red 'portal' per se, but ah.... so are the imps te cousins of afrits like the afrits are cousins to gargoyles? Isn't the disc of repulsion some kind of celtic symbol or something? what is the symbol called really and what does it mean? I know the urns have ankhs on them, which makes sense considering their function...

I'd say that the faces of the NPCs you see in the shop in Kmod 3 beta would be what the cleric and mage's faces look like. BTW:I think that herisiarchs are made out of mages.

It sounds similar to the spanish word "muerte" that means death, but I don't really know if it's another language.
