KoraxRPG: A question of extra monster peculiarities

I had a dispute with RambOrc regarding adding our monsters in Korax RPG extra peculiarities, primarily like immunity or resistances to some kind of damage (fire, ice, poison, etc, whatever). I was for it because I thought this will make game more interesting. RambOrc was against it, because he thought player will be bored to change weapons all the time while fighting vs great numbers of different monsters, besides, he said, that it's more cool when you can kill any enemy with any weapon you like, so you have a possibility to use your favorite weapon all the time. Finally I suggested adding a switch, a game option, that would toggle that extra stuff on/off. It seems this suited for RambOrc, but still I want to know, if this will be useful to anyone else. Question is basicaly, is this feature is worth of time to be spent on coding it?

IMO adding immunities and weaknesses alike would be an excellent way to brew some strategy into the game. Like, I always found it strange wendigoes got damaged by frost shards, if anything using it against them should regenerate their health. Same thing with fire storms and afrits. This KoraxRPG will be an RPG Trilogy, on Vavoom engine, as announced. First release will be either remake of KoraxMOD, or new Scattered Evil scenario (I'd prefer the second). Hopefully first alpha or demo version will be ready rather soon (RELATIVELY soon <!-- s;) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_wink.gif" alt=";)" title="Wink" /><!-- s;) --> )

The 4th Class

Basically, the Korax RPG is a trilogy. Part 1 will be a revamp of the upcoming KMOD release (where not just the gameplay, but even all the maps are dramatically upgraded to exploit Vavoom's powerful engine). Part 2 will be under the title "Scattered Evil," and will of course feature new maps from scratch. Part 3 will be under the title "The Serpent Power," and will feature more new maps.

This just gave me an inspiration for an easter egg level, which takes place in this "crimson tower," and each KH member gets a cameo. I can get a musical chamber filled with ancient instruments, and Rambo can be the blunt security guards. i voted that i don't care basically because that feature is in other games and it's a lot more... proper of those games, or trademark of those. I come to hexen and KH for the enhanced replaybility, and the essence of it. New features that remind me of other games i really don't care (not as much, for example, as tome of power or things that feels KH trademark). Sure, everything well done is cool and welcomed, but the core is more important IMO that more flashy details. If implemented, it should be inuitive, like mentioned of wendigos/ice and arfits/fire.
