Someone decided to use an RPG maker type program to create a game based on Doomworld (sort of like Final Fantasy, but not quite as good), with Phoebus being the enemy. A part of the game (a large part I hope) will take place on 'Ramdoom', which is his idea of RavenGames. What I was thinking was to make this place a secret area in that part of the game.

Wow, this sounds real funny... do you know who is behind this idea? I thought the Dumpster vs RavenGames war was behind-the-scenes, at least I tried not to talk too much about it publicly and only with select people in private (OTOH Dumpster might not have had such qualms, after all 2 years ago he was openly calling me the "Bin Laden of the Raven gaming community"). (who cares?)

The guy who's behind it is Blackfish, and it's really about the war between Doomworld and NewDoom. Right around that time, Phoebus banned half of NewDoom for whatever demented reasons, and most of them ended up joining Doomworld. About a month later, he lifted all the bans, including the old ones (probably realizing that it was too quiet around there). There's even going to be something about Raven-Games in there. By the way, who's Dumpster? I've heard that name before, but I can't remember where.

Because he can't control them and can't get all the ad money of the internet into his pocket (though it's obvious he doesn't get a dime for advertising these days, even Gorillanation kicked him for lack of traffic). If you dig around in the Hexen II subforum on RavenForums, there are a couple of threads with stuff about Dumpster, posted by some Hexen II community fans who were kicked from his forums. Actually it's quite funny that nowadays when he plasters his sites full of generic bad-paying ads I can just ask some people whether they want to do CPM advertising on RavenGames (CPM means I'm paid for impressions, regardless of clicks and other actions - this is the kind where the advertiser has the highest amount of trust in the publisher, in this case in me). <!-- s:P --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_razz.gif" alt=":P" title="Razz" /><!-- s:P --> The ClanWarz banner has already been paid in advance up to the end of this year (of course I also demand $0.10 CPM instead of the $10.00 CPM Dumpster wanted to sell his inventory for). I don't have actual contacts with such guys, but I can post some anouncement on fofums and possibly some guys will respond. gunrock might be one of them, BTW he's making a collection of maps designed specially for Vavoom and I hope it will help make some other guys make maps for Vavoom, since curent list of Vavoom maps is quite small. BTW this week on doomworld.com in newstuff thre's an amazing map for DoomLegacy with excelent use of 3D floors, and it worls in Vavoom (even though some things might not work).

Heh! all this sounds funny, I have been thinking and I think I got some fun stuff, how about adding some very small details into some of the levels on the game and then make some hidden NPC's in some other levels and they make some kind of quiz about those details, so if the player answers everything right (5 or 6 questions), the NPC could give him a clue to some other NPC with a more difficult quiz or the secret level itself (if you think about it, it sounds fun and we can take a big advantage to some of the features into the engine), so what do you think??
