Hey uhmm... Sorry again. I had lots of farm work over the summer and was helping out with another mod. But I should be back on once in awhile, I'll work on maps in my spare time and just upload them... If you guys need them, then feel free to use them (obviously.) I really hate disappearing like that, but my internet felt like being a problem, as well as the computers. But I think those problems are fixed. I may not be active on the forum too often... But I'll try hard to make maps, I promise. Again, really sorry... I have school now so i can't promise that I'll get a lot done, but I'll give my very best shot. I'll take another look at whats going on, but a recap would be nice too. And again, if I'm still accepted here then... Thanks alot. - Kelly

Hi, excuse me, what your maps arr intended for? I mean, RPG mod or multiplayer mod (Korax Arena)?

I try to make for both... Whichever is more needed at the moment. I'm working on one right now, I may have something uploaded later today, more likely tomorrow. I don't know which one it would be best for.

Sorry to post twice... I just want to know which project is the most important right now? Is it still KA? And are there any specific sort of maps I should make? Again... Thanks for being patient with me... And again, if anyone needs to talk to me, I'm usually on MSN whenever I'm on the internet. (I still have dialup, so please be patient with that as well...)

[quote="Stryker":wql199xz]I just want to know which project is the most important right now? Is it still KA? And are there any specific sort of maps I should make? Well, we are going to release KA 1.0 soon, but there should be futher updates for sure, and new maps will be welcome. If you want, you may check korax wiki for some instruction on how make maps for KA (hopefully some of them will be useful ) - http://korax.wiki.sourceforge.net/Korax ... umentation. As for KoraxRPG, my thoughts are away from it now, so I cannot say anything in particular. We will surely need alot of maps there, but there should be some kind of plan first, I suppose. Okay, I'll take a look at it and see what I learn. I have a basic (very basic right now) idea of how to map for KA, but I'll look to see what else I can do. I'll also be in the process of downloading the latest version of KA... But... Dialup... So that might be awhile yet. I've uploaded one of the maps I've been working on. (monastery.wad) Its still somewhat small, but I think it turned out rather well... But that's up to you guys to decide. I hope it really did turn out well. Oh and, sorry about my lack of slopes, I've still to this day been unable to figure out how they work... But I'll get to that.

The map is looking fine IMO, the use of 3d floors is good, I think it's a good start for a KRPG map .

Umm yeah, but...I mean, shouldn't there be something more specific, like which factions exist in the area, main plot key points etc. Well, that's offtopic here anyway.

As far as I see it, the first step in mapping will be to build the world as such, i.e. to create a number of locations and determine their position on the travel map. Kinda difficult to write a storyline spanning a number of locations before we know what locations are actually available.

I uploaded a new version of the same map, I mostly just added things... Essentially I added another room and touched somethings up. I hope this one improves upon the previous. This may be the final version of this map, unless you guys think it should be bigger or improved.

I like it, it's really good.

Do you think more needs to be added to it? Or should I continue working on another map?

I checked the map, I really like some places there, but frankly it looks unfinished, it's like concept design, a sketch for something larger. There's a lack of logic in the building, in my opinion, it's like those rooms are connected randomly. I can see you have a good use of 3dfloors and lights, I really suggest you should try to make something larger and better planned (like try imaging how real people will use the building, walk between rooms and will it be convenient for them). Also I found there's a mistake with the pond, water is solid; perhaps you forgot to use SetSectorContents special.

Yeah, that was kinda one of the feelings I got from it too... Perhaps I'll do some research (!) on some buildings and see how I can make it all more appropriate. Is it really? I thought I made sure it worked... I'll probably work on it a bit more tonight, perhaps have another version uploaded tomorrow.
