Help needed on Sourceforge account

It seems that SF.net is going to be dropping Wiki Spaces (the software we are using for the KH wiki), they are urging us to migrate to Wiki Media via hosted apps service. I've activated it from the admin control panel there, but since the beginning of the service I've been unable to login as an admin, so it's needed that someone else requests admin privileges on the KH project admin panel on SF.net so that they can delete my duplicate account without admin privileges and that we can begin migration to Wiki Media ASAP, we need to do this before the end of this week at the most to avoid losing this information, if you have anymore questions on how to do this let me know, thanks in advace!

If you check here: [url:2prnb41j]https://sourceforge.net/apps/mediawiki/korax/index.php?title=Special:ListUsers 'Firebrand_kh' is listed twice, once as admin, once as regular user (I don't know how this happned... ), when I login to the wiki it uses the regular user, so I can't do anything. To give yourselves admin rights (which you will need if you want to add content there ), login to the KH project account on SF.net then in the 'Project Admin' top menu option click on 'Feature Settings', you will be taken to a 'enabled features' tab, there you will see all the apps we are currently using, look for 'media wiki' and click on the 'grant admin' option, this will register you account on the users list and give you admin privileges, then return to the 'hosted apps' menu option and click on 'media wiki' you'll be taken to the media wiki page, there navigate to the users list and try to delete my duplicated user account .

I am getting errors all the time on SF (404 etc), sorry. I suggest you open a support ticket.

Sorry, I copied the URL wrongly, try changing 'Korax' to 'korax' in the URL, that should work fine .

Seems like there's some kind of string replacer on the board that turns korax (all in small caps) to Korax (with the first letter in capital cap) . I meant to turn the 'korax' all to small cap .

It seems that mediawiki can't delete users , the solution SF.net support gives is that we could try to rename the offending user to something different.

So, do we have any problems with Wiki anymore? I can see that Wiki is (thankfully) still out there.

Yes, apparently SF has a problem with creating new MediaWiki users, it's supposed to give them admin rights, but it creates them as guest users . Wiki spaces (the thing we are actually using for our wiki) is going to be dropped sometime this month (I don't know the date exactly). I've posted a support request regarding this, there are similar problems from other users there, so it's a general problem I guess, we just have to wait until they answer something , as for the current wiki, I managed to get a backup, that should serve for now in case things get dropped before they fix this problem .

Really glad to hear that, it would be a pain to rewrite all that staff And who's CMaloney by the way?

I'd assume the SF support rep.

I've planned to use MediaWiki since the beginning but I had the damn problem with the user not having admin permissions, so I first reported the issue, apparently CMaloney fixed it (but he forgot to delete the user without admin problems ), so I now have a duplicated user with admin and non admin permissions... stupidly enough when I login there it uses the user without admin permissions . I thought the problem would be solved if someone else asked for admin permissions but it didn't . [quote="Crimson Wizard":37t8aokr]Does this mean you just cannot order wiki contents to be moved somewhere else? AFAIK, SF.net is going to provide means to migrate data before trashing the contents of WikiSpaces, but I don't know, it's better to be sure of having a backup .

Allright, I got this mail today:
On Thursday July 30, 2009 at 8:00 AM Pacific Time, the SourceForge.net staff will be removing the Wikispaces facility that has been available to project teams since 2007. Project teams who have not yet migrated to one of the Hosted Apps wiki facilities, Trac or MediaWiki, may opt for one of two choices on SourceForge.net; Migration to Trac or MediaWiki.
So, what's our status? Few hours remaining...

I already submitted the petition to migrate to MediaWiki time ago, I hope this also fixes the problem with admin privileges we were having <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/eusa_pray.gif" alt="[-o<" title="Pray" /> .

So what?!
Fri, 31 Jul 2009 18:50:28

Just great, we need admin rights to apply the migration .

Well, the problem is solved now, everyone has admin rights and can edit the wiki <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/eusa_clap.gif" alt="=D>" title="Applause" /> . So let's continue updating the documentation, specially if we already have some things for KRPG done.
